Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami County merged with Big Brothers Big Sisters Miami Valley on March 3, 2003. Since that time, we have continued our focus on providing the highest quality Community and School-Based mentoring services for Miami County youth ages 6 years old and up. We serve approximately 100 Miami County youth each year. Together, let's mentor Miami County.

High School Bigs Site-Based Mentoring

This one-to-one mentoring program focuses on building meaningful relationships between Piqua High School students and 1st – 3rd graders at Springcreek Elementary and Washington Primary. Bigs and Littles meet for an hour each week during the academic year. All meetings are facilitated and supervised by a BBBS staff member. Some of the activities include crafts, reading, working on schoolwork, and more. As role models, high school students can find their voices as community advocates and leaders. During once-a-week sessions, they guide elementary school students through facilitated activities that support academic achievement, interpersonal skills, and self-awareness.

Community-Based Mentoring

Bigs and Littles are matched based on similar location, interests, and preferences. They plan their activities together, such as going to a Dragon's game, riding bikes, or trying a new hobby. Often times Bigs tell us they have as much fun as their Little on their outings!
